They say the best way to find a kidney donor is to tell the world what a terrific person you are and to persuade family and friends to do the same.
Great. Now I can die of either kidney disease or embarrassment !
arthurkidney.com is my compromise solution. Right now I’m focused on my need for a kidney. Once I get that transplant, I'll transform this site into a general resource for anyone seeking transplant information.
But in case you really do want to know more about me, SCROLL DOWN.
BUT FIRST, THIS MESSAGE...
Some of you have already used the contact form to send questions about me, my life, my kidney disease and organ transplants in general. Here's one place I'll post the answers --- along with some entertaining surprises. Meanwhile, please help me to spread the word by inviting your friends to visit
I'm a longtime writer and producer of TV shows, documentaries and a bazillion public service campaigns. My first boss and mentor was Fred Rogers. Together we produced the first comprehensive set of videos and children's books to enlighten and reassure preschoolers about hospitalization and surgery. Other sources of inspiration include MAD publisher William Gaines, Stan Lee, and Moe, Larry and Curly. Yes, the photos are real. To see one of my favorite productions, CLICK THE BUTTON.
That would be Wendy Garen. We've been together for over a dozen years, but didn't marry until last year. Clearly this called for a musical production number! Our singing rabbi, Jay Levy, performed You Can't Hurry Love with backup vocals by Tom Bourgeois, Mike Greenwald and me.
The stunning bride was escorted by The Wendy Garen Dancers, choreographed by Diana Worby.
Despite her questionable taste in husbands, Wendy holds a responsible day job as CEO of the Ralph M Parsons Foundation.
We love animals at our place, especially our three dogs (plus the occasional sea tortoise.)
LEFT TO RIGHT: Maggie Mae, two pix of our three-legged Little Guy Noir, and the reigning Dalmatian Beauty Queen, Paisley Princess Leia Organa, named for Carrie Fisher. Carrie is seen here administering a back rub to her late mentor, Foxy.
WARNING TO VISITORS:
